January 29 — 10:11 p.m. A caller said she would pick up her truck, which broke down on SR 4 in the Grays River area, the following day.

January 30 — 8:47 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident who was having trouble breathing. 11:30 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported finding a child’s bicycle stashed in the weeds in front of her property. 11:33 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance provided a lift assist to a person in Cathlamet. 11:47 a.m. The sheriff’s department received a referral from Adult Protective Services regarding financial and personal exploitation of a person in Cathlamet. A deputy attempted to make contact, but the person was not home. 3:25 p.m. A caller said he was walking east on Beaver Creek when he heard shots fired and then a bullet struck a tree branch causing it to fall in front of him. The caller said he yelled and the shots stopped for a moment before starting up again. 5:08 p.m. A burglar alarm was activated at a Rosburg address. 6:08 p.m. The sheriff’s department received a referral from APS for a Puget Island resident. 7:13 p.m. Emergency personnel in Skamokawa responded to a Skamokawa address to aid someone who was complaining of extreme pain when she hit her head and injured a rib in a fall. 8:54 p.m. An alarm was activated at a business west of Cathlamet. A responsible party was contacted and she said it was a recurring issue with an alarm.

January 31 — 5:19 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Grays River resident complaining of abdominal pain. 11:35 a.m. A caller reported a large sink hole on Kandoll Road. The county road department was notified. 12:42 p.m. A welfare check was requested for two juveniles in an Elochoman Valley home. 4:32 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a power outage. 5:03 p.m. A dog was found on Puget Island. The owner was located and reunited with the dog. 6:17 p.m. A caller was concerned about a person who was threatening to harm himself. Columbia Wellness was notified. A deputy made contact, and the subject denied the claim.

February 1 — 1:36 a.m. A caller reported a burglary at a Puget Island address and said that a gun was missing. 9:19 a.m. A Rosedale resident was defrauded out of $15,000 by someone claiming to be a law enforcement officer. He told her that her social security number was found in a box with drugs and was being used to launder money. She was told that if she did not send the money, along with another $70,000, there would be a warrant for her arrest and that if she went to law enforcement, it would compromise the investigation. The sheriff’s department advised her to report the matter to the FBI. 10:28 a.m. A caller reported a suspicious man who got off a derelict boat and was walking around a parking lot on Puget Island. 2:02 p.m. A caller reported a sexual assault. 2:08 p.m. A caller said she received a threatening text. 2:25 p.m. A caller witnessed someone shooting at sea lions from a white truck on Steamboat Slough Road. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified. 7:30 p.m. An east county resident said a juvenile was receiving threatening messages from juveniles in Longview. 7:56 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a family at a trailer at the marina, and reported a strong odor of meth. 10:17 p.m. A Skamokawa resident said a suspicious person came to his door.

February 2 — 9:44 a.m. A caller reported that a horse was loose and was almost struck by a log truck on Elochoman Valley Road. The owner was located. 1:21 p.m. A caller said a young boy was going crazy and breaking things at a Cathlamet address. A guardian arrived at 1:31 p.m. and was able to calm the child down. 3:10 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a person whose sailboat grounded along Altoona/Pillar Rock Road. The caller said the man was on land, but seemed to be in distress. At 6:47 p.m., US Coast Guard was advised, and the man was believed to be in Naselle. 3:25 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident said a man with a heavy black beard, wearing a black hat and a black coat, had been standing next to a nearby tree for the last half hour. He did not respond when the resident called out to him.

February 3 — 12:02 a.m. State patrol asked for assistance. At 12:20 a.m., a deputy took a man into custody. 9:10 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident complaining of chest and abdominal discomfort. 11:37 a.m. A caller said that the man with a beached boat along Altoona/Pillar Rock Road was now threatening people in the area. A deputy responded and at 5:05 p.m., an individual was taken into custody. 1:55 p.m. A caller said a dog was causing a traffic hazard on SR 4 in the Cathlamet area. A probable owner was notified. 2:02 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Puget Island resident. A deputy made contact and determined that the person was okay. 3:32 p.m. A caller said a power pole was down in the Skamokawa area. Power outages were reported. The PUD responded and power was restored at 5:49 p.m. 3:41 p.m. A caller reported a theft from a bank account. 4:10 p.m. The sheriff’s department received a referral from APS for a Cathlamet resident. 4:23 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with heart problems. 9:05 a.m. A caller heard someone racing up and down East Sunny Sands.

February 4 — 12:40 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a person in a car at a Rosedale business complaining of arm pain and nausea. 1:16 p.m. An individual was taken into custody following a vehicle stop. 4:56 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with breathing problems. 6:24 p.m. A caller said that a person in a trailer at the marina threatened his family. Deputies responded and requested a mental health professional. At 7:03 p.m., a deputy told mental health to stand down. 8:04 p.m. A caller complained about people working in an apartment above her after 5 p.m.

February 5 — 9:38 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Beaver Creek resident. 2:20 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance provided a lift assist for a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 2:49 p.m. A caller reported that a sailboat was adrift on the Oregon side of the Columbia River. The Coast Guard was notified. The Coast Guard called at 5:15 p.m. and said there was a helicopter on scene and provided information about the boat. 4:07 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Skamokawa resident.
