The long-running Wahkiakum Outdoors program, sponsored by the Wahkiakum County Marine Resources Committee, provides educational events regarding marine and natural resources and recreational opportunities in the SW Washington region.

The program will host three presentations during March and April 2023. The following Saturday, April 1, Dr. Madeline Kalbach from University of Calgary will present “Wings Over the Long Beach Peninsula” defining the bird life and habitats found on the nearby peninsula. Local musician/kayak guide/naturalist, Andrew Emlen of Skamokawa, will review “The Unique Geology and Ecology of the Cathlamet Cliffs” on April 22.

All Wahkiakum Outdoors presentations will take place at 2:00 p.m., at the Hope Center, 320 S 3rd Street in Cathlamet. Contact Mike Passmore (601-831-0360) for questions about these upcoming events or to suggest other topics.
