Longtime community leader and law enforcement officer, Daniel Lee Bardsley, died February 18, 2023 at his home in Cathlamet. Dan was 72 years old and born on December 27, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Martin and Shirley Bardsley.

He moved to the local area and went to work as a reserve police officer, moving up the ranks to Wahkiakum County Sheriff which he did until 2010 when his health changed. He married Billie Gilbertsen on September 30, 1990 and they enjoyed life together, combining their families.

Dan loved serving his community and was a well loved and respected, active citizen and avid Mules supporter. He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, movies, playing cards and trips to the casino.

Dan is survived by his wife Billie, mother Shirley Skillicorn, a sister Mary Miller, children Rex, Dolly (David), Dannette (Jeramie), Denley (Tammy), Denise (Josh), Derrick (Connie) and Darcey (Sug), 18 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his dad Martin and a daughter, Tera Gilbertsen Stankey.

A public celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
