Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 20 — 1 a.m. A caller reported suspicious vehicles parked behind the Rosburg store. 9:47 a.m. A driver pulled off of SR 4 east of Cathlamet when a youth in the vehicle had a seizure. The Cathlamet ambulance, the District 4 Fire Department, the Cathlamet Fire Department and a deputy responded. 11:25 a.m. An intrusion alarm was activated at the Elochoman Slough Marina. The alarm company later canceled the alarm after contacting responsible parties. 2:40 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported two missing handguns. 4:40 p.m. A caller said there were around 20 cows loose along SR 4 near the eastern base of KM. A potential owner was contacted. 5 p.m. A Rosburg resident alleged that a contractor was involved in fraudulent activity. He said he had an attorney and was advised to get a protection order. 8:39 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance, a deputy, and state patrol responded to a West Valley home to aid a resident who was having trouble breathing. 9:03 p.m. A welfare check was requested for someone parked at County Line Park. 9:34 p.m. A caller said she had been threatened by two men. 11:19 p.m. A caller said a large branch was blocking one lane on East Valley Road.

February 21 — 6 a.m. A caller said a tree had fallen on North Hull Creek Road. The county road department was notified. 9:23 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Gray River resident who had a seizure. 2:38 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a dog in his pasture and said he had previous issues with the dog’s owner. 3:11 p.m. A caller reported a group of men standing around a gray truck in the Deep River area. The caller called again at 3:53 p.m. to say the gray truck had been towed, but an abandoned truck had been in the same location for a month or longer. 5:35 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported an ailing clinic patient to the hospital.

February 22 — 11:04 a.m. A caller reported a horse trailer in the middle of a Puget Island road. A deputy contacted the owner who said he was awaiting a delivery and his truck’s 4-wheel drive was broken. He planned to move the vehicle after the delivery was made. 1:59 p.m. A caller said that LED headlights valued at $200 apiece were stolen from a five ton military vehicle at the Skamokawa fire hall. 5:31 p.m. A cow was loose on Greenwood Road. The owner was notified. 11:14 p.m. A vehicle got stuck in the snow midway up the west side of KM. A snow plow was requested.

February 23 — 12:16 a.m. A caller found a camper door open at an Elochoman Valley address and said it should be locked. He didn’t see anyone around. A deputy responded and found no signs of forced entry. 6:58 am. A resident on Altoona/Pillar Rock Road was without power. The PUD was notified. 2:30 p.m. A dog attacked a neighbor’s alpaca in Grays River. 8:36 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a male who almost fell off a bike while turning into a parking lot in Cathlamet.

February 24 — 12:43 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had fallen. 9:24 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a West Valley resident complaining of back and hip pain. 9:29 a.m. A Rosedale resident said he was without water. 9:58 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient with chest pain to the hospital. 1:13 p.m. A caller said he loaned a vehicle to a friend a week earlier and it had not been returned. 1:54 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a problem with a juvenile. 1:56 p.m. A rock was reported on SR 4 near the bottom of Abe Creek Hill. 10:07 p.m. A caller said there was a tractor at a nearby Elochoman Valley property and several people were loading items into multiple vehicles.

February 25 — 12:39 a.m. A caller requested a drive by of the new brewery after seeing flashing lights in the building. 2 a.m. A Deep River resident reported ongoing harassment by neighbor’s kids. A deputy spoke to both parties, and the juveniles agreed to stop. 4:03 a.m. A man was seen knocking on the back door of the sheriff’s office before sitting on some nearby steps. He was later seen trying to enter the hotel. 5:26 am. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident with a nosebleed. The individual refused transport to the hospital. 4:07 p.m. A caller said a horse was loose and on a Puget Island road. A deputy later said the horse was located and safely off the road. 9:58 p.m. A caller accidentally dialed 911.

February 26 — 12:53 a.m. A westbound vehicle was seen swerving all over SR 4 and almost went into a ditch. 5:28 a.m. Some Skamokawa residents reported a power outage. The PUD was notified. 7:30 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had fallen. 9:57 a.m. A tree was down and blocking a Grays River road. The county road department cleared the road. 6:06 p.m. A deputy spoke with two individuals involved in a domestic disturbance. 6:37 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious person looking around a Puget Island farm. 7:23 p.m. Emergency personnel in Skamokawa responded to a West Valley home after an individual fell and was complaining of hip and leg pain. 7:45 p.m. An East Valley resident reported a power outage. The PUD was notified. 8:28 p.m. A caller said a classic vehicle may have been taken from a Skamokawa address.
