March 27 — 9:39 a.m. A Cathlamet business owner said that a strong smell of marijuana was coming from a neighboring property and making her feel ill. A deputy spoke to the neighbors and the landlord. 9:42 a.m. A resident on Altoona/Pillar Rock Road said that a $40,000 skid loader was stolen from his property sometime between 4 p.m. the previous day and 9 a.m. that morning. 11:32 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident complaining of pain in her hip and lower back. 12:34 p.m. An East Valley resident said that kids were throwing rocks through windows. 4:56 p.m. A caller was concerned that someone in Cathlamet may unlawfully be in possession of firearms. 6:54 p.m. A caller said a woman appeared to be in distress at the fishing pullout along Elochoman Valley Road; she was hunched over on the ground and throwing gravel. 10:02 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious man in a hoodie sitting in a vehicle outside a Rosedale business. The vehicle left before a deputy arrived. State patrol later said the vehicle was occupied by one female. 11:36 p.m. A caller reported that a tree was down on SR 4, blocking the westbound lane just east of County Line Park. The Washington State Department of Transportation responded.

March 28 — 4:01 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident who was complaining of chest pain. 7:49 a.m. A caller hung up after dialing 911. Dispatch could hear people talking in the background; there were no signs of distress. He called back and left a message. Because they could not pinpoint location and there were no signs of distress, deputies did not investigate. 7:59 a.m. A driver was given a warning after failing to stop at a stop sign or signal on a Cathlamet street. 9:31 a.m. A man was seen syphoning gas from a vehicle parked near Strong Park. 3:17 p.m. A juvenile was assaulted at a Cathlamet school. The caller said five people were involved and a suspect left in a white truck. 4:03 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading west on SR 4. 4:49 p.m. A child hung up after dialing 911. 4:50 p.m. A single vehicle was involved in an accident at the intersection of Cross Dike and Ostervold roads. A deputy, the Cathlamet ambulance, the Puget Island Fire Department, state patrol, and a tow truck responded. 6:42 p.m. A vehicle broke down on SR 409. State patrol responded and pushed the vehicle off the road. A courtesy transport was requested for the driver. 6:44 p.m. A caller said that a Grays River resident had an electrical fire. The home was full of smoke but there were no visible flames. West county fire departments and the PUD responded.

March 29 — 6:28 a.m. A caller reported a suspicious man shining a flashlight into a car parked behind the library. A deputy responded and said that the vehicle was in the same condition as the day before and the man matched the description of the person associated with the vehicle. 11:36 p.m. A caller reported that there was dark smoke coming from the chimney of a vacant house on Covered Bridge Road. West county fire departments and a deputy responded. 11:56 p.m. A caller reported possible animal abuse at a Skamokawa property. A deputy responded and spoke to the owner about creating a feeding plan and contacting the vet. He said he would follow up. 12:27 p.m. A caller reported a deceased deer along SR 4 in the Skamokawa area. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified. 1 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and a deputy responded to a possible overdose at a Cathlamet home. 5:06 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a person complaining of chest pain. 7:09 p.m. A caller reported that someone stole about $400 worth of stone from a barn on Risk Road. 7:41 p.m. A caller found an unoccupied pick up truck on its side in a Puget Island ditch. An individual was said to be hiding at a nearby home and had appeared to be intoxicated earlier in the day. State patrol responded. 8:13 p.m. A caller said a dog was not being taken care of properly. A foster home was possibly located. 10:32 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and the Cathlamet Fire Department responded to a home near Nassa Point to aid a person who was bleeding from the chin after a fall. After becoming concerned that it might be a possible domestic situation, EMS left the patient and staged outside to wait for deputies. At 11:32 p.m., deputies advised EMS that they could return to the scene.

March 30 — 10:05 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported hearing a knock at her door at 1 a.m. 10:10 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and a deputy aided a Puget Island resident after a possible overdose. 10:45 a.m. A caller reported that a door had been kicked in at a vacant home in the Skamokawa area. 12:19 p.m. A Puget Island resident said he received a bad check. 4:08 p.m. A counterfeit bill was found in some clothes at the clothing bank. 4:54 p.m. A caller said a man was having a possible mental health break down on Main Street in Cathlamet. He was seen beating himself with his shoes and screaming. A deputy responded but was unable to locate the man. 6:37 p.m. A caller was concerned about the driver of a vehicle that had been parked at the waste water plant since before 9 a.m. 8:28 p.m. A caller was concerned about a juvenile’s mental health. A mental health professional asked to have a deputy accompany him to the home. 8:30 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and a deputy aided a Cathlamet resident who was detoxing.

March 31 — 6:03 a.m. The driver of a pickup truck was involved in a one vehicle accident on Risk Road. There were no injuries reported. A deputy responded and waited while the driver called a tow truck. 12:36 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Cathlamet home. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded. It turned out to be a false alarm; a new resident was trying all the switches. 1:18 p.m. A fire alarm was activated at a home on Middle Valley Road. Emergency personnel in Skamokawa, including the Skamokawa Fire Department responded. The alarm was canceled by the monitoring company but at 1:30 p.m., smoke was found in the house, and the District 4 Fire Department and a thermal camera were requested. 8:17 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Alger Creek resident who had a facial injury after being struck by a hot coal. 10:57 p.m. A caller reported that there were several parties drag racing on Middle Valley road every weekend and that the people involved also had a large bonfire. At 11:14 p.m., the caller said they may have a scanner because the parties dispersed after he called.

April 1 — 9:35 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with a possible broken hip. 11:42 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that she had been charged by some dogs and one of them nipped her dog. She said her dog was not injured. A deputy said he would attempt to contact the owner and give him a warning. 3:42 p.m. A caller complained about a slow going truck pulling a fifth wheeler on SR 4. 4:51 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a young person who appeared to be intoxicated when he stopped at a home on Beaver Creek Road to ask for a ride. 7:29 p.m. A caller reported people on Elochoman Valley Road racing on motorcycles between Kent’s bridge and Beaver Creek Road. 8:14 p.m. A caller reported that a deer on a Puget Island road needed to be euthanized. Deputies responded. 9:21 p.m. A caller said two intoxicated men were fighting near the fire station in Cathlamet. Deputies responded.

April 2 — 10:35 a.m. A driver asked for assistance after getting locked out of a vehicle. 11 a.m. A caller reported that a boating accident happened in the Clifton Channel. 1:09 p.m. During a vehicle stop, a woman said she had been assaulted by her boyfriend in a neighboring county. Her report was taken and the appropriate authorities were notified. She was transported to a restaurant to await a driver. The Cathlamet ambulance and a domestic violence advocate responded. 1:39 p.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle pulling a trailer on West Sunny Sands. 2:46 p.m. A driver’s license was found along SR 4 in the Grays River area. The owner was contacted. 4:55 p.m. A dog was found in the Elochoman Valley and eventually returned to its owner. 8:55 pm. Several Puget Island residents reported a power outage. The PUD responded. 9:01 p.m. A driver ran after a vehicle stop in the Rosedale area. It was later determined that he was the subject of a Department of Corrections warrant. At 9:54 p.m., a deputy said the man was at taser point on Clover Street. At 9:57 p.m., the Cathlamet ambulance was requested after the individual suffered a possible syncopal episode. 11:47 p.m. A caller hung up after dialing 911. Dispatch attempted to call back but got a busy signal.
