Shirley Faye Skillicorn, 93, of Cathlamet, died April 1, 2023 in a Longview care center. She was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota on October 20, 1929 to Chester and Ardis (Cook) Herrick. She was the last living of five girls.

Shirley worked as a maid at the Hotel Utah in Salt Lake City for several years and when she was widowed she moved to Cathlamet in 1978. She worked at the Columbia View Care Center and Marie's Cafe in Cathlamet. She enjoyed her morning coffee, Senior Luncheons, crossword puzzles, reading and watching the Price is Right. She was a longtime member of the LDS Church in Cathlamet and Utah.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Mary Miller, daughter-in-law Billie Bardsley, 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded by her husband Lynn Skillicorn in 1978, her son Dan Bardsley earlier this year and four sisters.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday April 14 at 10 a.m., at the LDS Church in Cathlamet. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
