Nicholas Ryan West of Cathlamet graduated from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota on April 29, 2003 with his Bachelor degree in Biochemistry. West received the 2023 outstanding student in chemistry award from the Lacrosse-Winona local section of the American Chemical Society. He plans to attend the University of Iowa this fall and will pursue his doctorate degree in Chemistry. Nicholas is the son of Derek and Christine West.
