Brynn Tarabochia, Lauren Katyryniuk, and Haley Eastham, a trio of friends at the Senior Prom.

Haley Eastham is one of the most impressive students I have talked with. She is the young woman we older women want to see succeed as far as she wants. Even with a challenging health situation, she never backs off. She is not only beautiful, but also poised, thoughtful and very intelligent. She expressed appreciation for her parents, "Without them, I don't know what I'd do."

Haley wants to be a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse in Anesthesiology). This fall she will enter Corban University (Warriors) in Salem, Oregon as a sophomore on a softball scholarship. Principal Justin Laine on Haley: "Haley Eastham is another member of our extremely talented and high achieving 2023 senior class. She is currently ranked #3 in her class and has completed about 30 college level credits through Running Start thus far. She has completed one of the most rigorous course loads of anyone in her class. Haley is a very hard working, determined, and conscientious student. She is also a very talented athlete who will play fastpitch at George Fox University next year. This is a testament to her hard work and determination. One of the things that I have most appreciated about Haley is her quiet resolve and tremendous resilience. She has quietly persevered and overcome a chronic health condition without ever complaining. I have no doubt that Haley will excel in a medical career. I could see her following in her mother's footsteps. Her potential is unlimited, and I know that she will accomplish anything she puts her mind to."

Lauren Katyryniuk has the best smile on her face every time I see her. It is her trademark. She is one of the nicest people I've met at the school. She loves life and it shows. She says she loves the connections she's made at school and appreciates the support she's received from the community, too. She is another student with the goal of teaching in Naselle GRV's high school.

She will begin her higher education at Lower Columbia College in Longview with a basketball scholarship, then get a degree in Political Science, and a masters in education. One dream idea of hers is to flip houses (for money) while teaching. But her biggest dream is for a successful basketball career. Principal Justin Laine: "Lauren Katyryniuk is one of the most polite and respectful young ladies I have ever known. She always approaches those around her with a warm smile and a pleasant greeting. Lauren is also a hard-working student who has maintained a very impressive grade point average. Lauren has had to work hard for this GPA, and she never backs down from a challenge. Lauren has invested countless hours on the basketball court and was rewarded for her efforts by being voted the 1B girls' basketball player of this year. This is quite an accomplishment, as she earned this distinction without having the opportunity to showcase her talents in Spokane this year. She has definitely earned the respect of coaches around the state. Lauren is an outstanding student, exceptional athlete, and tremendous leader. Yet, the thing that impresses me most about Lauren is her citizenship. She always has a smile on her face. When I ask her how she is doing, I can always count on her to ask me how I am doing. Not many students do that. She is a genuinely kind, compassionate, and respectful young lady. I know that she aspires to be a social studies teacher--perhaps, following in the footsteps of Miss See. She would make a great teacher and coach."
