Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
On June 3 we had a Community Potluck and Live music, we had a good turn out.
Johnson Park would like to thank everyone that donated prizes and for everyone that came and participated in our Community Potluck. Everyone made the event a success.
We would do a few changes to the scheduling next time, but everyone had fun.
Donny Wages, Ian Brandon, John, Paula Rush, Sean Roberts, Devin Roberts and Gene Quilhaugh all performed on stage.
Layton Elliott and his lovely wife were a big hit. A special thank you to the American Legion for having an Ice Cream Social combined with us. We should definitely do more of that. It would also be fun to do some events with the Naselle Community Center.
Coming in July, Johnson Park will have a Wildlife Canvas Painting. Everyone will have a choice of what to paint. The choices are an Eagle, Bear, Elk or Coyote. The class will be held in the Cafeteria on July 20 from 6-8 p.m. Pre-Registration is a must. The cost of the class is $30. Call for more information, Denise Blanchard 360-355-0472,

The crown molding and trim are finished in the hallways, it looks stunning. Wes Ware completed work on the foyer. Bill Baker, maintenance, did a fantastic job of of staining and putting up the trim and crown molding. A big thank you to Diane Sears, Janitor, for the sanding off of at least 3 layers of paint on the doors and trim.
Check it out if you have not been to Johnson Park in awhile. Bill and Diane are keeping the building looking great.
About three years ago many of you might remember we had a naming contest. People from all over the community supplied names of teachers, janitors, coaches, cooks, etc. The Johnson Park board compiled the names and matched as many of the names to the rooms in which they taught. Most of the plaques are done now and hanging on the doors. They look really sharp.
So walk the halls and reminisce, when you see some of the names that were given to us from the opening of Rosburg school to when it closed. The names are guaranteed to bring back some pleasant memories, and maybe some that were not.
The Library is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. Carillon Nicol is there to help with any questions or help you might need. The Library will be closed the week of July 4th. Enjoy the holiday and be safe.
The Sewing Room is open on Tuesdays from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m., or by appointment. Quilters are welcome to reserve the space for special events.
The Gym, Exercise room and Activity room are available 24/7; enjoy the facility.
The Kitchen/Cafeteria is available for rent for events, along with the gym, activity room, and conference room.
We have many events coming up with different groups. They are listed on the bulletin boards by each room, and on the main white board in the lower hallway. Check it out when you are there the next time.
