Mules continue to struggle heading into league play

The Wahkiakum Mules football team came up short in competition against Pe Ell/Willapa Valley on Friday, losing 46-12.

"It was another physical game that just didn't go our way," Coach Ryan Lorenzo said. "Tough loss. We just need to stay healthy until we get to our league play in 2 weeks."

The Mules scored on touchdowns from Kyler Sause in the third quarter on a 48 yard pass from Zakkary Carlson and Grant Wilson during the fourth quarter on a 54 yard pass from Carlson.

Carlson was six for 12 on passing for 111 yards. He had five carries for 16 yards. Jacob Johnson received three passes and gained 10 yards. Carlson led the team on defense with five solo tackles and three assists. Flip Tesar added four solo tackles and Jayden Stoddard assisted on eight. Kaleb Labarge had one sack.

The Mules travel to Toledo on Friday.
