Marsha Elaine Woody

Marsha was born in Tacoma, Washington on April 30, 1936, the second of three children. Her father was a Washington State park ranger, providing the opportunity to live in various parks, including a log home at Millersylvania State Park. Her park experiences continued when she worked a summer at the Paradise Inn on Mt. Rainier. She was an excellent student and attended Central Washington University. Marsha married Stan, her eighth grade Toledo sweetheart, in 1958. For 22 years, Marsha worked as a secretary for Julius A. Wendt Elementary School. Selfless and servant-hearted aptly describe Marsha. Her calm patience and gentleness left an impression on the many students and staff who came to her for help.

Marsha loved family and was always up for a bike ride, a game or to take the grandkids camping. She was an excellent cook and grew beautiful flowers in her backyard. She played the piano and organ, served as church secretary, Sunday School teacher, and volunteered in many community endeavors. Marsha's artistic abilities were expressed in sewing, quilting, embroidery, knitting, and painting.

Marsha lived with a thankful attitude and was known for her cheerful smile. Her greatest impact was her quiet but strong faith in God, expressed in her habit of morning Bible reading and prayer. This was Marsha's source of strength for a life well lived until she was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on November 6, 2024.

Stan was born in Winlock, Washington, June 26, 1936, the youngest of three children. Stan grew up on a farm and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his horse and playing sports.

In retirement Stan enjoyed spending time with his family and loved travel, especially snowbirding in Arizona. He served as an ombudsman for 12 years, an EMT, worked at the local food bank and other volunteer roles.

Stan came to faith in Christ around 1967. His walk with the Lord deepened over the years and he enjoyed serving as church deacon and fellowshipping with those in his church family and community. On Veterans' Day, November 11, 2024, Stan entered the gates of heaven.
