County Assessor candidate

To The Eagle

Candidate filing week is nearly here, and I want to be direct with the people of Wahkiakum County.

I am running for County Assessor because I believe this job requires real experience, real commitment, and the ability to lead with fairness and competence. That’s exactly what I bring to the table — as a certified residential appraiser, as someone working inside the Assessor’s Office today, and as someone who understands the responsibility that comes with this role.

This isn’t a learning opportunity. It’s not a place for guesswork or politics. The Assessor’s Office handles serious work that impacts every taxpayer in this county — and it deserves someone who knows what they’re doing from day one. I’m here. I’m qualified. I’m ready to serve.

In the weeks ahead, I’ll continue meeting with voters, answering questions, and listening to concerns. If you’d like to host a conversation or meet-and-greet, reach out — I’m happy to show up.

And if others decide to file for this race, I welcome the debate. But let’s be clear: anyone stepping forward should be ready to discuss the work, defend their qualifications, and stand up to real scrutiny. That’s what leadership demands. And that’s what the people of Wahkiakum County deserve.

Thank you for your trust — and for your high expectations.

Sincerely,

Justin Moriarty
