Sheriff's Report

April 28 3:20 a.m. The Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to assist an elderly Cathlamet resident who was experiencing stomach pain. 11:04 a.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to assist an elderly Puget Island resident who was sick. 9:40 p.m. The Grays River Ambulance responded to assist an elderly Rosburg resident who was experiencing signs of a stroke.

April 29 9:20 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report possible animal abuse by a tenant on their property, and that they believed this tenant was dumping dogs on Beaver Creek Rd. 7:17 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to reports of a tree branch smoking from a downed power line on Elochoman Valley Rd. and power outages throughout the street and neighboring streets. Power outages were reported between Elochoman Valley Rd. and Jacobson Rd. and Chevron RV Park. PUD was notified and was on scene. 8:44 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of dogs being dumped on Elochoman Valley Rd. and Beaver Creek, but officers could not locate any dogs when they arrived to investigate.

April 30 9:11 a.m. A Beaver Creek resident called to report an abandoned vehicle and requested it be moved as it was sitting on the county right-of-way and was a driver hazard. At 9:22 a.m. A Puget Island resident called to report an abandoned RV on E. Sunny Sands Rd. and asked that it be moved from the travel way. 2:23 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies served a warrant for a resident on Hedlund Rd. and took one into custody. 6:31 p.m. A Cathlamet resident received deputies’ assistance after locking their vehicle keys.

May 1 2:58 a.m. A Grays River resident called to report a water main break at W SR4 and Loop Rd .; PUD was on scene working on repairs. 12:27 p.m. A driver on SR4 near Seal River Rd. called to report a cow standing in the middle of the highway. 1:49 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that someone they knew had stolen money from their mobile banking app. 4:41 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that a suspicious person was on their property. Still, deputies verified that the person had permission to be there with the co-owner of the property.

May 2 9:36 a.m. A Skamokawa resident called to report an abandoned vehicle on Middle Valley Rd. It was not blocking the roadway, but had been sitting there for three days. 11:31 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies assisted a driver on Main Street who had locked their keys in their car. 1:51 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a broken-down car sitting off of SR4 near the end of their driveway, and the vehicle had a pipe sitting in the front seat, but the driver was nowhere to be seen. 4:56 p.m. A Grays River resident called to report that their roommate kicked them out and then proceeded to remove items from their room and requested a deputy’s assistance. 9:44 A driver on SR4 called to report a vehicle traveling Westbound on SR4 in Cathlamet was displaying road rage behaviors.

May 3 10:47 a.m. A Skamokawa resident called to report that someone had broken into their barn and caused property damage, including a shattered fish tank, ruined extension cords, and several items out of place. 12:16 p.m. A Cathlamet resident wanted to report that they had backed into a parked vehicle but could not locate the driver and wanted to report what happened. 1:49 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that a third party told them that an individual had made a threat to burn down their home and requested that deputies make additional patrols in the area. 11:54 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies made an arrest during a traffic stop on W SR4 near the east end passing lane.

May 4 2:46 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report two loose dogs who were behaving aggressively on Elochoman and Foster Rd. 2:52 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies went to investigate a report that the gate to the KM Transfer Station was left open and an unknown vehicle was in the area. 2:59 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone appeared to be squatting in a building on their property and requested to speak with a deputy. 3:21 p.m. A driver on Deep River Rd. called to report a fallen tree in the road.
