Sheriff's Report

May 12 6:54 a.m. A Skamokawa resident called to report that a calf was wandering in the road at Middle Valley Rd. and Ingalls Rd. 11:14 a.m. The driver of an armored vehicle was doing a pickup on Main Street and called to report that an aggressive person had blocked their vehicle and had become confrontational. The driver reported that they could not move their vehicle, and as they had cash on board, they felt unsafe due to the comments being made by the other person. 3:25 p.m. A caller on SR4 called to report debris on the roadway after the County Line Park and near the west end passing lane. 4:05 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported missing ducks and chickens after the neighbor’s dog was seen loose on their property. 6:20 p.m. A caller on Main Street in Cathlamet reported that a car driving erratically had almost hit pedestrians and was driving around town. 7:04 p.m. The Skamokawa Fire Department responded to assist an elderly Skamokawa resident who was having heart troubles; the resident was life-flighted to the hospital.

May 13 9:54 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies performed a welfare check on a resident of Skamokawa after a concerned citizen had a strange interaction with them and worried about their well-being and the animal in their care. Deputies contacted the resident, who seemed in good health, and took no further action. 10:13 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that their neighbor’s dog was barking and charged them from across the street while unattended and unleashed; the caller was unharmed. 11:19 a.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that they had hired someone to work on their classic car and had given them a large portion of money to do so, but claims the hired person has not spent any of that money on the vehicle. 2:03 p.m. A caller on Columbia Street reported a vehicle driving erratically and going through Cathlamet. 3:31 p.m. The Grays River Ambulance responded to assist a sick Rosburg resident experiencing dizziness and vomiting. 8:36 p.m. A Grays River resident reported an RV had been abandoned on their property. Deputies advised the property owner to contact a civil attorney, as it was a civil issue.

May 14 10:06 a.m. A pickup truck and a dump truck collided on Elochoman Valley Road; no injuries were reported, and the roadways were cleared. 1:07 p.m. The Cathlamet Emergency Services performed a lift assist for a Cathlamet resident who had fallen. 5:22 p.m. A concerned citizen called to report a person on the side of SR4 who was talking to themselves and yelling at no one in particular and displaying erratic behavior. 6:32 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies assisted a WAAG representative with returning animals to their owner in downtown Cathlamet. 7:22 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported losing their keys somewhere near Eagle Point Village, a Kia fob with a bicycle charm. If found, please return it to the Sheriff’s Office.

May 15 5:31 a.m. A driver on SR4 east of Seal River Rd. called to report a cow in the highway. 9:55 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that someone was spraying weed killer on their side of the fence without permission. 11:10 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a welfare check on an individual leaving a Cathlamet business who seemed very confused and unwell. Deputies made contact with the individual and called for an ambulance. 1:46 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to assist a Wahkiakum County Jail inmate who had a knee injury. 6:50 p.m. A Skamokawa caller reported cows in the roadway at Middle Valley and Ingalls Rd. 7:31 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report a trespasser and wanted to speak with a deputy.

May 16 10:45 a.m. A Skamokawa resident called to let the Sheriff’s Office know that their vehicle had broken down on the side of the highway, and they would contact a tow company. 4:27 p.m. A driver on SR4 in Rosburg reported that five to six cows were going toward the road and had pushed them up a logging road. 5:53 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that someone was removing tires from a vehicle with a for-sale sign. Deputies responded and learned the person was fixing a stuck brake caliper. 6:31 p.m. The Grays River Ambulance responded to assist a Rosburg resident who was severely ill and transferred them to the hospital. 9:25 p.m. The Cathlamet Emergency Services transferred an ill resident to the hospital.

May 17 12:28 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to assist a Cathlamet resident experiencing breathing troubles; the individual was transferred via Life Flight. 3:04 p.m. A caller on SR4 reported an eastbound vehicle that hit an address post and drove away without stopping.

May 18 12:39 a.m. A caller staying at the Marina cabins called to report that the people staying next to them were drinking, causing problems, and would not quiet down. 1:58 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a verbal confrontation between a Cathlamet resident and someone at their home. 3 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that five of their neighbor’s dogs were loose and were now running around and digging in their yard. 7:28 p.m. Several callers reported seeing two minors who were hitchhiking on SR4 and asking for rides in Cathlamet. 9:32 p.m. During a traffic stop, deputies arrested one subject. 10:20 p.m. A caller on Alger Creek Rd. reported debris and glass in the roadway from what looked to be a collision.

May 19 11:35 a.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to assist a Puget Island resident who was unconscious; the resident was Life-Flighted to the hospital. At 9:01 p.m. the Grays River Fire Department responded to transfer a Grays River resident to the hospital for high blood pressure.
