Cathlamet Haircut Hut brings island style to marina

A tiny trailer with a big heart and big style has opened at the Elochoman Marina. Owner Lauren Speyser brings her years of experience and a fresh new style with island décor to The Cathlamet Haircut Hut.

The new shop will be open Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m to 6 p.m and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Patrons have options from scissor cuts for longer hair to a full-on cut and hot lather neck shave. All services and prices can be found online by visiting cathlamethaircuthut.com.

"I'm just really grateful for the opportunity here in this community," said Speyser. "Everyone has been welcoming, and we have an amazing spot with a great view."

With the owners being eager to get started as summer gets to full swing, the air-conditioned trailer will operate just east of the Marina Offices. The Cathlamet Haircut Hut joins a number of new businesses that call Elochoman Marina home, joining Kel's, as well as another upcoming food cart in the planning stage.

"We love seeing new businesses get their start here in Wahkiakum County and join other great businesses that call this place home," said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ryan Murillo. "This is just another opportunity to expand these types of services in Wahkiakum County that we are grateful for having nearby."
