Solid waste disposal fees at the Columbia County Transfer Station increased by 2.2 percent effective July 1, 2025, following an annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) adjustment approved by the Columbia County Board of Commissioners.
As required under Board Order 6-2010, disposal rates at the Transfer Station are updated each year based on the previous year’s CPI. The most recent CPI increase of 2.2 percent resulted in updated rates for residential and commercial customers. Some of the solid waste fees include commercial tipping fee ($112.36 per ton), self-haul (up to 320 lbs. minimum $27.48, over 320 lbs. $167.19 per ton), senior rate (up to 320 lbs. $16.91), unsecured load fee ($19), and special handling fee (e.g., Boats, RVs, $80). Call the Transfer Station at (503) 397-9811 for RV disposal requirements.
Yard debris fees up to 860 lbs. are $27.48 and over 860 lbs. is $65.65 per ton.
In addition to standard disposal rates, recycling fees for items such as paint, used motor oil, and medical sharps remain unchanged. For a full list of recycling rates and accepted materials visit the Columbia County Solid Waste webpage (columbiacountyor.gov/departments/solidwaste).
Residents are encouraged to check with their waste hauler for any additional changes and to contact the Transfer Station with questions about disposal options.
