Sheriff's Report

July 28 6:35 a.m. A caller on Altoona Pillar Rock Road called to report a water leak under the road. 8:21 a.m. A concerned citizen reported seeing an individual walking down the street who seemed confused and in need of help. Deputies located the individual and stayed with them until a family member arrived to pick up. 8:32 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that an immediate family had taken their mail and would not return it. 9 a.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance transported a Skamokawa resident to the hospital for a rapid heart rate, pain in the arm, and numbness in the neck. 5:43 p.m. Deputies responded to a report from a Cathlamet resident who believes their neighbor stole a tool kit from their shed and would like the neighbor trespassed from their property.

July 29 2:06 a.m. A driver on SR4 called to report a vehicle with flashers and lights on sitting on the side of the highway near Salme Road in Naselle. 7:11 a.m. Power outages were reported at Rosburg residences on Raistakka Road and Alder Road. 9:54 a.m. A Rosburg resident called to report that their neighbor was taking photos of their property and this is just one of an ongoing number of disputes with this neighbor. Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to transport an elderly Cathlamet resident who had fallen and injured their hip. 6:50 p.m. A driver came into the office to report that their vehicle was hit from behind on SR 409 and was referred to WSP for self-reporting.

July 30 10:25 a.m. A Driver on E Birnie Slough Road in Cathlamet called to report a downed tree blocking the lanes on Puget Island. 10:39 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that they lost their wallet somewhere near Strueby Lane. 11:22 a.m. A tree was reported to be leaning into the road on West Sunny Sands Road and blocking the lanes. 4:44 p.m. Deputies performed a welfare check of a Skamokawa resident after they did not pick up their dog from the groomer. When deputies arrived at the residence, they found the subject had fallen and was injured and needed to be transported to the hospital. 8:39 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies arrested one individual at the Elochoman Marina after receiving reports of animal neglect on a boat.

July 30 7:14 a.m. Wahkiakum County Fire Departments responded to extinguish a brush fire on the side of SR4 near Nassa Point. 8:05 a.m. A Puget Island resident called to inform deputies that there was a dead deer in front of their residence. 8:40 a.m. A driver on SR4 hit a deer in Skamokawa, and while there were no injuries, their vehicle was disabled. 8:51 a.m. A Grays River resident called to report finding a note in their mailbox that felt threatening and left the resident feeling frightened, and asked deputies to investigate.

July 31 10:58 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to assist a driver on Steamboat Slough Road in Skamokawa who had run out of gas. 1:56 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported hearing yelling and things being thrown at the neighboring residence. 4:49 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance transported an elderly Cathlamet resident to the hospital for stomach pain and confusion. 11:25 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to complain that their neighbors were being too loud: yelling and using power tools while working on a boat.

Aug. 1 12:02 a.m. Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to perform a lift assist for an elderly Puget Island resident. 6:34 a.m. A driver on SR 409 reported that a work vehicle had hit the bridge, but there were no injuries. 11:06 p.m. A caller at a business on Main Street reported hearing people arguing and yelling and someone saying, “Don’t hurt me.”

Aug. 2 7:19 a.m. The Skamokawa Fire Department responded to perform a lift assist for an elderly Skamokawa resident who had fallen. 12:09 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to assist an elderly Cathlamet resident who was experiencing breathing difficulties and trouble walking. 8:10 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident was transported to the hospital for complications regarding flu-like symptoms. 9:38 p.m. Deputies responded to reports of an erratic individual on Main Street who seemed to be intoxicated and was standing in the road, yelling at the person they were with and causing a scene. 9:39 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report two motorcycles driving at a high rate of speed on E SR4 near Evergreen Lane. 10:22 p.m. Two drivers were reportedly behaving erratically on W Birnie Slough Road in trucks, honking the horn, flashing the lights, getting out and walking up and down the road. 10:30 p.m. The Puget Island Fire Department responded to extinguish a brush fire on W Sunny Sands Road.

Aug. 3 12:12 p.m. The Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to assist a Cathlamet resident who had crashed their bike. 12:51 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to complain that someone was riding a dirt bike up and down Hodgson Road. 12:48 p.m. A driver on W SR4 reported that a mother deer was hit near Duffy’s in Grays River and the baby deer was left standing near the mother deer’s body. The caller was referred to WDFW.
