On Monday, Sept. 1, come join the “old-timey fun” in Clatskanie for a free big band concert in the park. Come out, dance and listen to the harmonies and rhythms of the North Coast Big Band. Enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob, ice cream and beverages for sale to support the Clatskanie Arts Commission (CAC). A $1 raffle ticket gets you a chance at a set of season tickets (a $65 value), as well as some delicious local farm fare. If you don’t win the raffle, you can still pick up season tickets at clatskaniearts.org.
Thanks, once again, to the generosity of Donna Garlock, this concert kicks off the Clatskanie Arts Commission’s 36th annual performing arts series. The Sept. 1 (Labor Day) concert will take place at the Clatskanie City Park (35 Park St.) from 2 to 4 p.m.
CAC will provide free coffee and cake at intermission, so bring your dancing shoes, listening ears, and a lawn chair and enjoy a great afternoon. Bleacher seating will be available. Your vintage car will definitely recognize those Big Band vibes, so show off your shiny ride.
