We enjoyed a too short visit here from Mr. and Mrs. John Jensen of Seattle on August 12. He was a shipmate of Georg’s in the past, and we do enjoy seeing these old friends and families.
Thru Fair week and into this week we enjoyed the company of good friend Doris Robertson from Santa Monica, Calif. I don’t know how she could consider fair week a rest, but it was a change from her usual routine and that’s always good. She enjoyed a few new experiences, like driving a tractor, canning salmon, seeing her first Fair in 25 years, and a few other things, she flew home with a friend in a Cessna 172 plane on Wednesday.
Surely did enjoy the Fair this year. It provided a change in our routine, to say the least. Some thoughts of a Fairgoer: it’s good that they honored the Fair Belles this year. The ladies and their committees did an excellent job! Bob Kerstetter was a jack of all trades on Saturday—he amazed us with his dexterity and doing a good job at it all. The rain didn’t stop the salmon barbeque and the arena saved the day. The grounds improvements certainly added to the atmosphere. So that’s it for another year.
