Valued Eagle readers and subscribers,
The Eagle has been covering the news and events in Wahkiakum County for 135 years. As we announced last week, the subscription and newsstand rate will be increasing to $1.50 at the newsstand starting on Sept. 11.
The paper’s current price of $1 has been the same since Feb. 14, 2013. Since that time, The Eagle has increased the number of pages, improved our sports coverage, and added columnists, a crossword (and other puzzles), and comics. Even with the increased price, the paper still presents a great value.
Another increase The Eagle will be making is its annual subscription rate. Beginning Oct. 1, subscription prices will become:
$60 per year for Wahkiakum County and Naselle residents.
$70 per year for out-of-county residents in the Pacific Northwest.
$90 per year for the rest of the country.
Those who renew their subscription prior to Oct. 1 can do so at their current rate, and the renewal will start once the current subscription expires.
For those who want to do a little more to support The Eagle, we will be announcing new ways and incentives in the upcoming weeks. The encouragement and gratitude we get from our readers mean a lot to us.
We hope that more people will contribute beyond just a subscription. Keeping The Eagle flying strengthens our community by keeping readers informed about everything from public policy to social events, which are vital to a healthy community.
