Aug. 11 2:56 a.m. A Cathlamet resident was transported to the hospital by Emergency Services for severe back pain. 9:17 a.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to assist an elderly Cathlamet resident who was having a seizure. 10:19 a.m. Deputies found a vehicle in the ditch off SR4 near County Line Park. 1:21 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that his license plate had been stolen on Aug. 9 between 7 and 8 p.m. on Main Street. 4:16 p.m. A Skamokawa resident called to report that a man was dumping rocks and debris into the creek near Fairgrounds Rd. 5:54 p.m. A non-injury hit and run was reported in front of a Cathlamet business on Main Street. Deputies located the other driver, and both parties agreed to handle the situation civilly. 1:35 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of an unknown individual who was beating on a Skamokawa resident’s trailer, yelling and making animalistic sounds. The caller believed the individual may be under the influence of drugs.
Aug. 12 4:23 a.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance transported an elderly Puget Island resident to the hospital for severe back pain. 11:32 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report receiving an unsettling phone call from an unknown number with a crying person on the other end. Deputies contacted the callers, and it was two youths who answered and stated that they were prank-calling people and it was a joke. When deputies attempted to get more information and the location, the youths would not comply. Deputies then contacted the parents. 2:07 p.m. Several drivers called in to report rocks on the Puget Island bridge, which had been spilled from a dump truck. WSP responded and was able to move the rocks, clearing the roadway. 4:06 p.m. A Skamokawa resident called to report that they believe their elderly parent was being financially exploited. 4:13 p.m. The Grays River Ambulance transported a Grays River resident to the hospital after she tripped and twisted her knee.
Aug. 13 11:59 a.m. A caller reported that an unknown vehicle had been parked outside of a Rosburg business for four days. 1:40 p.m. A driver on E SR4 called to report a piece of tire in the roadway near Riverview East Road. 5:21 p.m. Someone called to report that they had found an unknown dog wandering alone on Main Street, and they did not know what to do with it. 5:37 p.m. Power outages were reported on several streets in Rosburg from Altoona-Pillar Rock Rd to Eden Valley Road. Power was restored shortly after. 6:57 p.m. A Skamokawa resident called to report that they had just removed two known individuals from their property for trespassing. 8:30 p.m. Deputies performed a welfare check on an elderly Grays River resident after a caller reported that they had not been in contact with her for three weeks and found her at home alive and well.
Aug. 14 1:32 a.m. A Puget Island resident called for the Emergency Services after being stung by an unknown insect. 4:08 a.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance transported a Cathlamet resident to the hospital for severe stomach pain. 11:09 a.m. A Skamokawa resident called to report their prescription missing after having a friend spend the night. 5:25 p.m. Power outages were reported on E Birnie Slough Rd. PUD was notified.
Aug. 15 3:05 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies and the Grays River Fire District responded to a vehicle rollover accident in Naselle on W SR 4 near Greenslade Rd. There were no injuries reported. 3:59 p.m. A WDFW employee reported a lost iPad. 7:21 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report witnessing a driver hit a power pole at the intersection of SR4 and Nelson Creek. The caller stated that the pole was damaged with wire sticking out.
Aug. 16 10:21 a.m. A driver on SR 4 called to report being passed illegally near Jacobson Rd. 11:08 a.m. The Grays River Ambulance responded to perform a lift assist for an elderly Rosburg resident who fell. 11:25 a.m. Deputies responded to assist a driver in Cathlamet who locked their keys in their vehicle. 5:40 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies arrested an individual who parked their motorhome on a Skamokawa resident’s property and refused to leave. The individual was then handed over to Longview Police.
Aug. 17 10:24 a.m. A driver on SR 4 reported a large dead bird in the roadway, possibly a bald eagle, near the viewpoint. 3:02 p.m. Power outages were reported on E Birnie Slough Rd after a branch fell on the power line. PUD was notified. 7:06 p.m. A dog was found on Ingals Rd. in Skamokawa by a deputy who was able to contact the pet's owner from the number on its collar. 7:52 p.m. The Cathlamet Emergency services responded to assist a Skamokawa resident who had been stung by a bee and had an allergy. 9:15 p.m. The Grays River Ambulance transported an elderly Rosburg resident to the hospital for high blood pressure.
