On Oct. 30, 2025 at 5 p.m. at Fort George Brewery’s Lovell Showroom in Astoria, a community event will be held to discuss upcoming changes to state forest management. Efforts to restore healthy forests, clean water, wild salmon and steelhead runs and the habitats they depend on in the North Coast will be discussed as well. This event is sponsored by Wild Salmon Center, North Coast Communities for Watershed Protection, Seven Capes Bird Alliance and Stand Tall Oregon. Featured speakers from Wild Salmon Center include Oregon Senior Policy Manager Michael Lang, Oregon senior Wild Fish Manager Kirk Blaine and North Coast Habitat Restoration Manager Cyndi Curtis.
The title and theme of the event is “Forests & Ales: Protecting Forests, Fish, and Rivers on the North Coast.” Following the presentations, the three speakers will participate in a Q&A panel.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for social hour, presentations and panel Q&A from 6-8 p.m. Wild Salmon Center is hosting the first round of beverages (beer, wine, N.A.) for the first 50 attendees! Fort George Lovell Showroom is located at 1483 Duane St. in Astoria. For info, reach out to Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator Pam Birmingham at pamb.wsc@gmail.com.
