Rose also had nine digs, while Steenerson managed six kills in the win. Rounding out the stats for Naselle was Brooke Davis with 12 digs, Sadie Kilponen with 10 digs, and Emma Kragerud with eight kills. “It took a little time to settle and figure out our groove, but then they found their rhythm and did what they needed to do,” said Assistant Coach Hanna Higginbotham.

The Comets were able to pull off another sweep on Saturday, Nov. 8 against Taholah (25-19, 25-17, 25-19). Smith led the team in assists with 33 and co-led in aces, along with Colombo, as the duo had five each. Colombo also led the team in digs with 20, while Rose led the team in blocks with four. Rose also had nine kills and six digs, and Dunagan led the team in kills with 10. Davis had 13 digs and four kills to round out the stats. “What a sweep,” said Head Coach Rebekah Wirkkala. “These girls continue to amaze us. Not losing a single set in districts, they worked as a team, moved the ball around and stayed consistent. We are so proud to be the Comets.”

Naselle (15-4) played Wilbur-Creston-Keller (19-5-1) on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at a neutral site, but the results of the game were not available at the time of press. The results of the game will be included in next week’s edition of The Wahkiakum County Eagle.
