This Christmas season, come experience the wonder of the Festival of Nativities Friday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 7 from 3 to 8 p.m. at 900 11th Ave. in Longview. Over 700 nativity scenes from around the world will be displayed under one roof. This free community event invites families and friends to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ while discovering the beauty, creativity, and devotion expressed through hundreds of unique nativities collected by members of the local community.
Visitors will enjoy a variety of themed rooms, each offering a special glimpse into the life and mission of the Savior. Visit the “International Room” and experience nativity scenes from across the globe, highlighting cultures and craftsmanship from many nations. The Children’s Room provides a joyful space for all ages, featuring a nativity scavenger hunt and hands-on family fun. In the “White Room,” step into a peaceful, reverent atmosphere featuring serene white nativity displays. In the “Life of Christ Room,” celebrate key moments from Christ’s ministry on earth through art and exhibits. The event will also feature the Portraits of Christ Gallery, where local artists share their inspired depictions of the Savior.
Spreading the message of hope and joy throughout the community, the festival will also feature live music performances, a real-life nativity, and participation in the Longview Christmas Parade.
“Our mission is to celebrate with our community the birth of Jesus Christ,” said event organizer Dixie Kolditz. “He is the Son of God and the center of our worship as Savior of the world.”
