Frank Corbin

George W. Everest of Santa Rosa, Calif., is spending the holiday season as guest of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smith. Mr. Everest will visit his father Ralph M. Everest of Cathlamet and sister, Marian A. Healy of Longview

Returned From Alaska

Ralph Pedersen spent some time in Alaska fishing and visiting friends. There he experienced bad weather conditions. He is now home with his family.

To California

Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Grasseth left for California December 5 and visited Mr. and Mrs. Tony Alvidrez. During the two week stay they visited Disneyland. Mrs. Grasseth and Mrs. Alvidrez are sisters.

Christmas Party

The Wahkiakum CB’ers held their annual Christmas party at the Puget Island Fire hall, December 20. There they had a gift exchange and a potluck. About 35 members attended.

Shamrock Riders

The Shamrock riders met at the home of Cathy Scott recently. Denise Rose opened the meeting and we did the 4-H American pledge. Kim Wright read the minutes and roll call. Debbie Moonen gave us the treasurer’s report. We talked about the auction we attended last Sunday in Chehalis which was something new and different.

We talked about what times we were to meet at Cathy’s Saturday for roller skating in Longview and exchange our Christmas gifts. Also discussed the time we would leave Sunday for the Mt. Solo gaming show. We decided that if we didn’t bring our dues to the meetings that we would have to pay 5 cents more. Cathy told us some things about our record books and asked us what we would like to learn in 4-H this year.

On December 11 the Shamrock riders met at the home of Cathy Scott. We discussed outfits for our club and decided on what we wanted. Also, we talked about making our own chaps.

We talked about having Ginger Bighill and Kim DeBriae’s Grandma attend one of our meetings to show us how to make macrame knots so we can make our headstalls and breastcollars.

We also talked about the trail class that we’re going to have in February. It was decided to have it for 4-H and the public.

We’re having a speaker at one of our meetings this month to talk about the first 4-H club started in this country and first horses at the fair.
