Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

Artist of the month

Tsuga Gallery welcomes new member, Debbie Patana. Debbie moved from Southern California to Long Beach, Wash., in 1968. She loved the ocean and the landscape around the coast and the colors. Debbie dabbled with art for a few years and, in 1985, she got serious when she got involved with stained glass. She loved the colors, distorted light effects, and the endless creative possibilities that stained glass gave her. In 1992, Patana opened an art gallery and art supply store in Chinook, Wash. She did well with the gallery, but the cost of stained glass was getting expensive, and she was looking for alternatives. In 2010, she found that alternative in fused glass, which became an exciting extension of her art. Debbie and her husband, Richard (Pat), moved to Skamokawa last year. They have five sons, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her art is on display at Tsuga Gallery. Stop by and see the fantastic colors that she captures in her work. Tsuga Gallery is a non-profit art co-op, located at 70 Main St. and open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
