Oregon Governor Tina Kotek officially endorsed NXT Clean Fuels in a letter sent to the Army Corps of Engineers, urging the federal agency to approve the $3 billion clean fuels project. “Oregon stands ready…to ensure that the project moves forward,” wrote Gov. Kotek in the letter, emphasizing the creation of thousands of union jobs, the tremendous environmental benefits to air quality, and the restoration of 470 acres of wetlands along the Columbia River.

According to NXT Clean Fuels Director of Communications Michael Hinrichs, “It is rare for large-scale private developments to garner vocal support from an Oregon Governor.” NXT Clean Fuels CEO and Chairperson Christopher Efird said, “Governor Kotek’s vocal support is another momentum-building milestone leading up to federal approval. With her eagerness in seeing us succeed, we feel ever more confident that our flagship project is viewed as a strategic asset for the State of Oregon and the broader Pacific Northwest region.”
