Buyer steps up to reopen hardware store

The closure of Cathlamet Building Materials has been a topic of conversation around town since Jim and Erin Wilson closed its doors at the end of December. Since then a local investor has stepped up to take over the store. Dave and Sandi Hendrickson are working on the final paperwork and hope to have the store reopened soon. Assisting the Hendrickson’s are their daughter Megan and her husband Tracy Elliott. Megan and her stepdad Dave will be learning about managing the business alongside the staff from the previous owner.

Megan Elliott said that she has been “dreaming like crazy” about all the possibilities but plans to keep the store inventory as it was with the previous owner. After they learn about the business and get more information about what the public would like to see in the store, they may make some changes. One possibility that has often been suggested is the addition of pet and livestock feed and supplies. Tracy said that they will be reaching out to the community with polls on Facebook to see what new products people would like to see in the future. For more updates, see the Cathlamet Building Materials page on Facebook.
