Columbia County America 250 Anthology opens for submissions

The Columbia County Authors Alliance is pleased to announce an open call for submissions to a special community anthology commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.

This anthology will capture the voices, experiences, and perspectives of Columbia County residents during this historic moment in time. Contributors are invited to share their reflections, memories, or observations about our community and county through short stories, poetry, personal essays and memoir pieces. Submissions may be historical, contemporary, or forward looking. Participation is open to all Columbia County residents, from young writers to our valued elders. No previous writing or publishing experience is required.

The Columbia County America 250 Anthology is scheduled for publication as a free ebook in June 2026 for everyone to download, read, share, and enjoy history in the making. “The goal of this anthology is to create an inclusive, lasting record of this moment in time, told in our community’s own words,” said America 250 Anthology Project Lead Ellen Jacobson.

Submissions opened on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, and will close on Monday, May 25, 2026 (Memorial Day). Complete submission guidelines are available at columbiacountyauthors/america250. For additional information or interviews, please contact Ellen Jacobson via email at columbiacountyauthors@gmail.com.

The Columbia County Authors Alliance (CCAA) was founded in 2025 to support Columbia County writers through educational and networking opportunities, local author events, anthologies, regular creative gatherings, and building connections with readers.
