Former Rainier principal receives five-year prison sentence

Jeremy Williams, former principal for Rainier junior and senior high school, was sentenced Monday, Feb. 23 to five years in prison for possessing child sexual assault materials (CSAM). According to a statement issued by the Cowlitz County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Williams pled guilty to three counts of “Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct in the First Degree.”

Williams was arrested Sept. 16, 2025, after the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office received multiple referrals from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children of social media accounts uploading CSAM that matched previously flagged files in a national database. Upon investigation, it was revealed the accounts belonged to Williams, a resident of Longview, Wash.

According to online case information, Williams entered a plea deal Jan. 12, 2026. After serving out his prison sentence, Williams is mandated to be supervised by the Department of Corrections for 36 additional months and required to register as a sex offender.
