Skamokawa News

My Alston grandchildren, Sharon, Bruce, Maira and Molly spent the weekend with us while their parents attended a marriage encounter in Chehalis. On Saturday the Johnson tribe joined us for the remainder of the weekend. Monty Longtain joined our group to have a good time with all his cousins.

The Jerry Brockways spent most of Sunday in Kelso with the Kenny Brockways to celebrate the baptism day for Jared and Rachael. Sunday evening they attended the church dinner at the Skamokawa Grange hall.

Pat Thacker has received a third honor, in the form of another nomination for appointment to the Merchant Marine Academy at King’s Point, Long Island, New York. This one is from Senator Warren Magnuson.

Laurie and Lonnie Webb spent a recent weekend with their grandparents, the Francis Edmonsons, at Copalis digging clams while their parents, the Tom Webbs, spent the weekend in Spokane.

I was the honoree at a birthday party luncheon hostessed by Claire Pype last Wednesday. Others attending were Noreen Holten, Nell Smythe, Pat Beyer and Ann Fryberger.

Helen West has really bounced back to her old self in a hurry. It’s good to have her hale and hearty again. We had dinner with them Tuesday evening.
