HERE WE GO!--We're almost a week into another new month, and I have to tell you that I'm sure somebody has sped up the ole time machine, as these days are flying by! Our last weekend was mostly just cloudy on Saturday after rain on Friday night and Sunday was a bit cool and foggy in some areas in the early morning hours but it got nice and sunny and made for a great afternoon outside. GRAY BEGINNING--It's a gray and drippy Monday morning to start the week and it looks like we will be fairly cloudy with a couple more drizzly days in the week ahead. However, if the forecast proves true, we will see temps in the 70's on Thursday, only to return to rain on Friday and Sunday. If it does turn sunny and nice, be sure to get out there and take advantage of it as it may not last too long. NICE BEGINNING--As this week begins, it's a sunny Sunday morning around here, but it also started out very nippy, as it was only 24 degrees when we got up, so, we are truly hoping the warmer weather scheduled for the rest of the week, comes true. NICE SURPRISE--I was so happy to see that our Easter weekend weather was not the drippy one that we had all feared, but instead we enjoyed some very wonderful sunshine and warmer temperatures, so that was awesome! NOT SO NICE--As this week begins, it's a wet and blustery Palm Sunday, so it's a good day to hunker down inside after making sure all one's outside objects have been securely fastened down. DRIPPY START--As this week begins, it's a drippy kind of Sunday, but I'm told we'll have some dry days between now and when you get this paper, so I hope you were able to enjoy them like we all did last week, as those sunny days were certainly uplifting. MIXED--By the time you read this, we may be back to some soggy weather after a supposed dry spell, which is at least happening this Monday morning after some heavy fog. ANOTHER WET ONE--As I begin my column, we are once again looking at the possibilty for some local flooding, so I hope everyone gathered what they needed just in case we have our "usual" underwater spots which prevent us from getting to the store. NOT NICE!--I'm pretty sure that our snow/sleet/wind event last weekend lasted much longer than a whole lot of people wanted it to, as while that first batch of snow is pretty, after that, it can just wind up being a real nuisance. NICE START--As this week begins, it's actually a pretty decent day after a somewhat cloudy and dampish beginning but the sun popped out this Sunday and gave us a very nice break. NICE, THEN SOGGY--It was certainly nice to enjoy some sunshine this last Friday and Saturday, as it was a much needed break that gave the high waters time to recede and gave all the outdoor lovers a time to stroll or bike in some dry conditions, awesome! IT'S A NEW YEAR--It's my first column of 2021, wow, we made it! We may be into a new year, but we still have the same ole weather, wet and wild! It looks like we are still in for some showers this week but it is mixed with some dry days at the beginning of this week, so we'll take what dry weather we can get. WET AND WINDY--As this weekend before Christmas winds down, we are having some very wet and windy conditions, so in other words, normal weather just before the Christmas holiday. COLD AND SOGGY--We ended last weekend with a very frozen Saturday morning in West Valley, and I have to say, I was a little surprised to have to really work at getting my frozen mailbox opened that morning! LOOKING SOGGY--After a few days of some clear, sunny days, albeit cold, it looks like we're in for a drizzly one this week. If the forecast comes true you may have to resign yourself to use that umbrella more often and keep the boots by the door! Of course, with all our little micro-climates around here, one area could be wet while the other dry, so personally, I'd like to go against the odds and hope for a bit more dryness out here in West Valley for a change. COOL BUT DRY--We started out the first of this week with a nippy 32 degrees but at least it was dry. That's not the case with how the work week is starting however, as it's a bit soggy. We are supposed to have a fairly dry week though, so that will be nice, but remember, when it's dry around here this time of year, it's usually pretty chilly during our night time hours, so your critters might need some cozy, warm place to sleep and outside animals usually need a bit more feed to fend of the chill. PRETTY WET--The beginning of last week was pretty doggone wet and we were happy to have a bit of dryness show up on Thursday so our "lakes" could recede from our fields before the next batch of rain comes falling down! With the King Tides, we saw a lot of water in the lowlands and places like Swedetown were seeing some pretty watery lawns and driveways. NASTY OUT--As this work week begins, we've got lots of rain to add to what we had over the weekend and those puddles have turned into "lakes" and with king tides this past weekend, the streams are full and fields have gotten even fuller and I think the only ones really happy about it are the ducks!
