WET BEGINNING:--As the work week started, we got some more rain, which can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it. We are behind in our yearly rainfall amounts, which we need to have to keep things nice and green around here, as we certainly don't want a big burn like California just experienced! SOME MOISTURE--A couple of days last week saw some raindrops around here and some cool temperatures but considering we weren't in the midst of "Nor-easter" like many states back East, nor the dry, firey conditions of California, I'd say we were doing alright! NOT BAD--While we woke up to some very chilly temperatures last week, the sunshine that showed up on Saturday after some foggy conditions was quite nice, even though it wasn't super warm out there, as it only got up to 45 that day. OFF AND ON--The weather this past weekend was a bit of a mix, as we had some rain, some breezy times, some cloudy times and even some sunshine, so it just depended on where you were and at what time you were there, as to what kind of weather you were experiencing. MIXED--This past weekend saw us with some nice mornings but very wet late afternoons and evening hours. SUPER NICE--In spite of some early morning fog, the weekend weather was certainly dry and nice and it's going to be missed, as rain is scheduled to take its place by the time you read this. Then again, we are nearing the end of October, so I guess we have to expect that our nice weather can't last forever. FIRST FREEZE--We must be pretty special here in West Valley, as this past Sunday, Oct. 14, we woke up to temperatures below freezing and everything was very frosty, and very cold! The sunny skies were certainly welcoming though and with temperatures up in the 70s, we went from heavy coats to t-shirts in just a few hours. Monday was much the same, and while I'm not too fond of the freezing part, the clear skies and warmth later on are certainly enjoyable. LAST WEEK--At the end of last week, it sure poured, as by bedtime on Friday night, we were just shy of an inch and a half of rain that day, so it was a real soaker. Luckily, even though the skies were black in the morning, the rain let up for Saturday and we wound up with a pretty decent day. WAS GORGEOUS--The weather at the end of the work week last week, was just like Summer, sunny and warm and just plain gorgeous. The weekend began cloudy however and by evening time, we wound up being quite wet. On Sunday we had a little more dampness and we started the work week the same way. WILD END/BEGINNING--This past Saturday morning our Summer ended wet, wild and windy, as it just poured out here in West Valley and blew a ton of leaves everywhere. NIPPY--We started this work week with some low lying fog and the air temperature was in the 40s, so definitely on the cooler side. Once the fog lifted, it was a very nice, sunny begining to the week. Pleasant temperatures are supposed to be with us for a few days, like in the low 70s, so until the rain returns on Friday, we should have some nice days to enjoy. DAMPNESS--We began this past weekend with just a slight bit of wetness falling, and while it wasn't much, it was most welcome. GORGEOUS--As we started the week, which was in the midst of our three day Labor Day weekend, it was truly gorgeous out! You can't beat blue skies, sunshine and mid-70s temperatures, which are just a perfect equation I think, as it's nice but not too hot! I will say that you can feel "Fall in the air" however, as evening temperatures are in the mid-40s and it's just a bit nippy in the early morning hours. DAMP BEGINNING--As the week began Sunday morning, we had some light rainfall which was most welcomed by all those who received it. SMOKY START--As this week began, it was a pretty smoky Sunday morning, and forecasters say that we'll have more of that until mid-week. When it's smoky, it's a good idea to limit our time outside and if we have to be out there, then buy a really good mask that can filter out the fine particles that can cause lung damage. MOISTURE--When I went to bed last Friday night, it was lightly misting out here in West Valley. WEEKEND--This past weekend wasn't the best one we've had, but it wasn't too bad either. NICE WEEKEND--While we ended last Friday with a few sprinkles here in West Valley, it wasn't much, and the clouds on Saturday morning cleared off and gave a perfect day for the Kite Festival at Vista Park. SUMMER HAS BEGUN--The hot weather showed up just in time to welcome Summer, although if it gets as hot as they say it might, I won't be overly thrilled, as anything over 75 seems a bit too much for me.
