EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Position: Deputy Auditor II Department: Wahkiakum County Auditor 64 Main Street – PO Box 543 Cathlamet, WA 98612 Employment: Full Time /35-hour week/7-hour day Salary: County Proposal Pay Class 5 / Step 1 $2964.50 AFSCME Local 1557 Duties & Responsibilities: OPEN OFFICE: Engage postage machine, copier, sign-on DOL (Department of Vessel/Vehicle Licensing State Computer System). Open vaults, Auditor records and public vault. Sign on to New World System Financial Management terminal. Remit daily cash and fees to County Treasurer. Process mail, wait on counter customers: i.e., DOL, Recordings, Marriage Licenses, Dance License, register persons to vote. Audit and prepares vouchers for Current Expense and other funds for approval for payment by County Commissioners. Audits and prepares vouchers for Junior Districts. Includes checking cash on hand to confirm financial status before payment performs accounting tasks necessary to process, reviews records for duplicate payments. Processes warrant cancellations, voids and non-redeemed warrants. Supervises Deputy Auditor 1. CLOSE OFFICE: Close out recording computer, print reports and balance cash, turn off computers in vault. Close out DOL computer, print reports and balance cash and checks received to reports, sign off system. Lock all reports and cash in Auditor’s vault. Sign off the New World System Financial Management terminal. Sign off and shut down personal computer. And other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Graduation from High School or equivalent: 2-year relevant experience in accounting office work; government accounting education/experience; Computer skills Microsoft Office; Data input and general reports on financial programs; ability to create and sustain positive working atmosphere with the public and other employees. Ability to maintain confidentiality and keep accurate records. Must be able to work extended hours as needed, including weekends, evenings and occasional travel away from home for more than one night for training.
