No. 20-59 RESOLUTION NO. ___65___-20 A RESOLUTION CLOSING COLUMBIA STREET WHEREAS, based upon the recommendation of the County Engineer, it appears to the Board of County Commissioners that Town of Cathlamet work to replace a water line from along Columbia Street from its intersection with SR-4 and to intersection with Jacobson Road will make it necessary to close Columbia Street County Road to through traffic beginning at 8:00 a.m. May 26th, 2020 through 5:00 p.m. July 16th, 2020. The water main replacement project will allow for better potable water service and replace an old outdated water main. WHEREAS, Section 47.48.010 of the Revised Code of Washington grants authority to the Board of County Commissioners to restrict travel on county roads when conditions demand it; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AND ORDERED, as follows: Section 1: Columbia Street shall be closed to through traffic Monday to Friday each weekday at milepost 0.36 to milepost 0.86 starting 8:00 a.m. May 26th, 2020 through 5:00 p.m. July 16th, 2020. Through traffic will be allowed after hours and during the weekends. Section 2: The County Engineer is directed to post signs indicating the road closure established in Section 1 of this Resolution. Section 3: Upon posting of signs and publication of a Public Notice in the Wahkiakum County Eagle, any person violating the terms of this Resolution shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
