Though the new yarn shop on Main Street in Cathlamet, Jabber Shack, is largely a solo operation, owner Sue Zabel does get some help from her crafty husband, Dave now and again. Sue has been felting for two years, and Dave has been a knitter for four. Dave has always led the way when it came to trying something new, and...
Updated vote tallies late last week for Washington's primary elections produced no changes in results for local, regional or state wide races. In primary elections, the candidates with the top two vote counts advance to the general election. Also, in races for seats on a county commission, only voters in the commissioner district vote for the candidates, with all voters in a county voting on the races in the general election. Wahkiakum County had two races on the ballot, both for county commissioner, and both with only two candidates. In...

To The Eagle: As I begin my 78th trip around the star we call Sol, I find it interesting to note how the closer to the November election and how Trump's numbers seem to be falling behind Mr. Biden's, the more nonsense about delaying the election and dismissing the credibility of voting by mail bubbles to the top. I would hope that I'm not the only one that notices this, although I do wonder at times. Of note, Trump votes by mail. Hmm.... Equally troubling, if not more so, is listening to certain elected officials concerned that people that are...

TOASTY--As this week began, we started off very sunny and warm as there was no haze, no morning mist, only direct sunshine coming in my windows and it warmed up very fast. We were in the low 90s in no time! With sunshine forecast for the entire week, although a bit cooler, I hope everyone enjoys it, but carefully, as it's easy to get dehydrated or get sunburned, which of course, is not a good thing. So, here's to enjoying the sunny weather while keeping ourselves safe and while keeping our animals and children safe too. SPECIAL DAYS-Those...

To The Eagle: Thank you to The Wahkiakum County Eagle for allowing opinions. I will vote for the following candidates: Dan Cothren County Commissioner Pos. 2. I would vote for Mike Backman if I lived in his district. Jim Walsh State Representative # 19. Jaime Herrera Beutler Congress District 3. I have never voted a straight party ballot but this election I can not in good conscience vote for any Democrat since they all seem to think Socialism is the way to go and after all the many good things President Trump has done for the working class...
