The Food For Friends food drive will take place in Wahkiakum county on Saturday, September 12 from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are needed to collect the food. The weekend of October 2nd and 3rd will mark the 8th annual Columbia River Country Days. This event was initiated by local volunteers to celebrate Wahkiakum County and to raise money and awareness for WSU Extension and 4-H. Two votes were enough to pass the preliminary 2016 budget reflecting a 5 percent rate increase for all systems at Tuesday’s Wahkiakum County PUD Board of Commissioner’s meeting.
