We have many painting projects to finish before fair time and received some excellent help from The Farmers 4-H Club last week! Their first project was to paint the picnic tables with blue, lavender and pink paint. Later in the week, the club returned to spend an hour applying primer paint to the new goat, sheep and swine pens. A big thank you to Taya Deal, Nanea Carroll, Teylor Sauer, Cadence...

He is a third generation commercial fisherman on...

Thirty days after his heart attack, Robert suffered a stroke while working outside in his garden. “He’s paralyzed on his right side. He can cuss and he can say my name...

To The Eagle: When are Christians going to take a stand for the truth? Our town of Cathlamet is doing something immoral and disgusting by allowing the PFLAG group to participate in the Bald Eagle Day parade. They are a group dedicated to spreading gay and lesbian filth. It is time to make a stand and not participate or attend the parade. Some of the churches are sending their parishioners straight to hell with their tolerance of homosexuality. The Bible is real clear on this; it is sinful in all ways. Len Lindsley Puget Island Editor's note:...

The second Horsemanship Challenge Series event was full of new obstacles and looked to be an...
GOT SUMMER--Everyone was happy to see the sun come out last week. It almost got a bit warm for me, but hey, it was nice to have dry for a change. Sunday morning saw us with some cloud cover though, so while it was dry, we didn't have that sunshine to perk us up first thing in the morning but at least it showed up by noon and we enjoyed another beautiful day. SPECIAL DAYS--Those celebrating birthdays from July 12-18 are Samantha McClain, Justin Perkins, Megan Miller, Marietta Montgomery, Jerry Ledtke, Sharrel Mooers, Jamie Kincaid, Cameron...

Stanley Sanitary Service submitted the only bid for hauling of the county's recycling boxes. The bid came...

To The Eagle: Debating Obamacare with respect to the commerce clause of the constitution was a messy process, since that poor abused clause is among the most bent and battered by previous incarnations of the Supreme Court, and any finding might have left stray parts of this monstrous law standing. Chief Justice Roberts' brilliant move just lets the law stand but properly identifies it as a tax -- a huge, ugly tax. The current squabble among pols and pundits as to whether it is the largest tax increase in history is beside the point. It is a...
