    The Naselle Comets softball team suffered a loss on the first day of the State 1B Softball tournament in Yakima this weekend and never completely recovered, coming home without a medal. On Friday, the Comets lost to Inchelium, 18-5. Born January 16, 1929 in Naselle she was the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth (Oman) Anderson, both of Finnish ancestry. Earlene grew up on the family farm in Naselle, attended Naselle schools, and graduated from Naselle High with the class of 1947.     The season ended for the Naselle Comets baseball team on Saturday in the opening round of the State 1B tournament with an 11-2 loss to Odessa. That same day, the Naselle Comet softball team won the District 4 1B title with an 18-2 win against Quilcene.     The Naselle Community Center hosted their second concert recently to rave reviews and a large audience! Almost 100 visitors came from all over to hear the vast array of talent. Over $1,000 in donations were collected to help offset costs of upgrades and maintenance to the building. The event was a huge success! The Mules took 11th place out of 11 teams in boys’ competition with six points and seventh place out of 11 teams in girls’ competition with 52 points.
