Cannabis dispensary owners and employees are hoping to see a decrease in armed robberies with the passage of a bill imposing stricter penalties for offenders. The bill proposes increasing the standard sentence range by 12 months for those found guilty of robbing a dispensary. Salaries for commissioners haven’t increased since 2004. The board passed a resolution in 1996 establishing annual increases ranging from 2-3 percent, ending in 2004 at $31,366 per year.
