She was born November 28, 1926 on Puget Island to Lindor and Albertina (Svenson) Wegdahl. She is the last of four children. Gladys attended school on Puget Island and at Wahkiakum High School. She married John H. Wright and they had four children, later divorcing. On June 22, 1967 Gladys and David Spooner were married and they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
