On June 21, five members of the Cathlamet Woman's Club donned orange vests and picked up litter along SR 4 west of Milepost 35. A passing motorist was so impressed that he stopped and handed one of them a folded green-back, which--upon close inspection, turned out to be a one hundred-dollar bill! Friends of Skamokawa at Redmen Hall are announcing that the building repairs are finished and the building is now sitting on a firm foundation. Redmen Hall will reopen on June 28 with a grand celebration and their exhibit - "Legacy of the Columbia River Fishery." On July 7-11, WSU Master Gardeners will host Camp Luqal Luqal in the morning for youth in grades 1-3 from 8-11:30 a.m. Camp will be held for youth in grades 3-5 in the afternoon from 1-4 p.m. Cost of the class is $25 and is limited to 25 children. The next year of the Community Garden was well supported by the outstanding response of the community at two recent plant sales.
