Firemen respond to leak

Firemen from the Cathlamet and District 4 departments responded to Thomas Middle School shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.

A fire suppression sprinkler had been activated and sent an alram to the county dispatching center.

They found that a water heater in the mezzanine had leaked. The leaking water dripped into a restroom room below and activated the sprinklers and an alarm. There was no fire.

"It's a mess," Principal Theresa Libby said. "We have ceiling tiles down and things all over."
