The Wahkiakum Mule girls basketball team split results in Central League basketball this week.
Last Thursday, the Mules won 51-49 at Pe Ell. The Trojans led 26-23 at halftime, but the Mules outscored Pe Ell 17-11 in the third quarter to take command.
Kristina Heiner led the Mule scoring with 13 points; Jordyn Wirkkala scored 11, Shelby Deaton 10, Stephanie Johnson and Haley Boyce four each, and Sara Jespersen, Whitley Wirkkala and Rachel Fudge each had two.
Heiner and J. Wirkkala each had 10 rebounds, and Fudge made four assists.
On Tuesday, entertained the top rated Napavine Tiger girls and lost 69-35.
Jordyn Wirkkala led the Mule scoring with 11 points. Deaton had 10, Whitley Wirkkala six, Courtney Helms six, Boyce one and Kristina Heiner one.
Deaton had nine rebounds; Heiner had six and made three assists.
The Mules also learned Tuesday that freshman Ashley Helms has torn a knee ligament and will be out of action for several months.
"We'll miss her," Coach Marc Niemeyer said "She was our best defender."
The Mules are at Napavine on Monday. They entertain Adna on Tuesday and go to Mossyrock on Thursday.
