Tacoma folk duo to play at the Pioneer Church

Tacoma folk musicians Steve and Kristi Nebel will be in concert at Cathlamet Pioneer Church on April 14 at 8 p.m.

They will be accompanied by keyboard player and vocalist, Joe Debenedictis. There is a $10 suggested donation for the concert.

The duo is currently promoting their latest CD, "Big Red Smile". They performed their fifth tour of the United Kingdom in October 2006, playing everything from major folk festivals to tiny folk clubs.

They have been performing together for18 years, recorded seven albums as a duo, and three albums as founding members of "The Madrones" and "The Filucies". Singer/guitarist Steve Nebel is the primary songwriter in the duo, supported by vocals and bass guitar from Kristi Nebel.

Many of the Nebels’ recordings contain reflections of Pacific Northwest culture.

Their original songs range across the spectrum of American popular music with folk/country and rock influences popping up in their songs about people they've met that define the relationships they've shared.
