WSU holds Lambing Management School

Plan to attend the 2007 Spring Lambing Management School on April 27 and 28, on Puget Island.

The purpose of the school is to give producers some experience when possible in assisting ewes with dystocia, caring for newborn lambs and general care and management of a farm flock. Hands on experience for each participant will be provided, but will be limited by the unpredictability of lambing.

Beginner participants will also learn to reduce their losses during lambing. A resource notebook will be provided with paid registration.

Advanced School is available for those who attending the 2006 Beginning School and would like to further their knowledge. This session is available on request only.

Supervision is provided by Patrick McKay-Beach, Dr. Scot Lubbers, Dr. Susan Kerr, and the WSU Extension Small Farm Advisors.

Registration forms and more information are available from the WSU Extension office in Cathlamet at 360-795-3278. Registration deadline is April 18.
