The 23rd annual Great White Tail Run will be held May 19 on the Julia Butler Hansen National Wildlife Refuge between Cathlamet and Skamokawa on SR 4.
The course is an our and back run on Steamboat Slough Road which will be closed to traffic from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m. on the morning of the run.
This is a family event with a two mile walk/run, and five kilometer and 10 kilometer events. Awards fare given to the Top Over All male and female in the 5k and 10k and the first three places in all distance and age divisions.
The registration fee is $10 without a shirt and $20 with a shirt before May 12. After May 12, registration prices increase to $12 and $25. Registration on the day of the run starts at 8:30 a.m. at Skamokawa Vista Park, the Run starts at 10 a.m.
Run registration forms are available at area sports shops and the WSU Extension Office in Cathlamet. This event is sponsored by the Wahkiakum County 4-H Council. All funds raised are used for the county program. For more information, call 360-795-3278.
