PROJECT
Wahkiakum County, Washington
As a recipient of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Special Appropriation Act grant funds, the Town of Cathlamet's Wastewater Treatment Plant Relocation Project is subject to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review as required under 40 CFR Part 6. The following activities will be undertaken in the project:
The Town of Cathlamet is proposing to construct a new wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) on the north side of WA State Route 4, about 1,500 feet east-northeast of Cathlamet's downtown area. The proposed site for the new WWTP is located in a 4.7 - acre parcel recently purchased from the Wahkiakum School District No. 200. The proposed WWTP relocation project will take place within Section 2 of Township 8 North, Range 6 West.
EPA has reviewed the Environmental Report (ER) evaluating the impacts of the proposed project on the human and natural environment. EPA has determined that the proposed project does not meet the criteria for preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (40 CFR Part 6.207) and has, instead, prepared a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the project.
Any comments regarding the findings of the ER and FONSI should be sent no later than 30 days from the date of this notice to Ms. Hanh Shaw, WPA Region 10, 1200 Sixth Avenue, Suite 900, OWW-130, Seattle, WA 98101. EPA will fully consider and respond to any substantive comments received before taking final action.
To receive a copy of the ER or FONSI, please contact Ms. Shaw at EPA Region 10 at shaw.hanh@epa.gov or by phone at (206) 553-0171.
