Sheriff’s Report - December 23, 2010

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

December 13--8:49 a.m. A woman reported that a man had violated a restraining order; a deputy investigated. 2:04 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman with a bad infection. 2:57 p.m. A Middle Valley resident reported being harassed. 7:39 p.m. A motorist reported a car had run into rocks on SR 4 east of Cape Horn at Milepost 41.5; the Cathlamet ambulance was dispatched, but no one was injured. 11:23 p.m. A Westend resident reported was blocking Altoona-Pillar Rock Road; the county road department was notified. 11:27 p.m. Elochoman Valley residents reported power outages; Wahkiakum PUD was notified.

December 14--12:42 p.m. Wahkiakum PUD workers reported a possible burglary had occurred at an Oneida Road residence.

December 15--5:37 a.m. Cowlitz authorities asked Wahkiakum officers to watch for a pickup stolen from a store on the west side of Longview and driven west on SR 4. 12:59 p.m. A Salmon Creek resident reported a burglary at a construction site.

December 16--10:56 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman with pneumonia. 3:58 p.m. A Cathlamet resident said a young blonde male was riding a motorcycle around Cathlamet without a helmet.

December 17--8:56 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale woman injured in a fall. 10:07 a.m. A caller said a man had refused to pay for a replacement truck wheel; an officer investigated. 10:28 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported an attempted telephone scam from someone claiming to be a grandchild. 11:54 a.m. Corrections officers reported finding someone trying to introduce contraband into the jail. 1:29 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported someone had stolen a large cider press with mechanical and hand crank compartments. 7:58 p.m. A caller reported a power outage at Skamokawa Vista Park; the PUD was advised. 10:29 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported two young teenage boys attempted to buy dope at a Rosedale residence; a deputy was advised.

December 18--1 a.m. A motorist reported a rock slide on SR 4 near County Line Park; the state patrol was advised. 3:15 a.m. A motorist reported a fallen tree was blocking most of SR 4 near Grays River; the state patrol was advised. 6:41 a.m. A motorist reported a fallen tree was blocking Beaver Creek Road; the county road department was advised. 9:29 a.m. An caller reported that a man had been assaulted the previous evening in Skamokawa and was being taken to a hospital in a private vehicle; an officer investigated. 1:18 p.m. An Oneida Road resident reported a theft of tools. 1:52 p.m. A motorist reported a vehicle had slid on ice on SR 4 on KM Mountain and run into a ditch; no one was injured. 2:49 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a wrestler who sustained a head injury in a tournament at Wahkiakum High School. 6:23 p.m. A caller reported a continuing problem with rocks rolling onto SR 4 at milepost 45.8, just east of the Cowlitz/Wahkiakum county line; the state patrol was advised.

December 19--10:02 a.m. A Cedar Lane resident reported a car prowl had occurred the previous night. 4:18 p.m. A Cathlamet business reported a continuing problem with a person who had been banned from the store; an officer made contact and warned that the person could be charged with trespass. 5:44 p.m. A Westend resident reported a woman was attempting to take a truck to get drugs and that the woman had threatened a man with a screwdriver; an officer responded and made an arrest. 8:12 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an Elochoman Valley woman injured in a fall.

December 20--4:29 a.m. A Greenwood Road resident reported a fallen tree was blcoking the county road; the county road department responded.
