Sheriff's Report - January 20, 2011

 

January 20, 2011



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

January 10--9:47 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an Elochoman Valley man with chest pain. 10:13 a.m. A Cathlamet resident asked to speak to a deputy about harassing phone calls. 12:47 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an Elochoman Valley man who was very ill. 12:56 p.m. Officers gathered at a remote location in the county to burn marijuana that had been seized and held for evidence in court cases. 3:46 p.m. A Rosedale woman reported that her son had come home from school and discovered that someone had broke open a sliding glass door and ransacked dresser drawers, taking money and prescription pills.

January 11--12:44 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an East Sunny Sands man injured in a fall. 9:14 a.m. A Puget Island man reported an attempted phone scam in which he was to send money for fees to claim a lottery jackpot. 7:29 p.m. A caller in a rural location east of Cathlamet reported that gunshots had been fired toward his vehicle; no one was around when and officer arrived.

January 12--5:29 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported being harassed; an officer made contact. 10:16 p.m. A motorist reported a car had run into rocks on SR 4 near County Line Park, and three people were injured; the Cathlamet ambulance responded to assist.

January 13--9:57 a.m. A motorist reported that Grays River was over its banks and flooding Loop Road; the road was passable again on January 14, 5:54 a.m. 12:36 p.m. A teacher at a Cathlamet school requested assistance in dealing with a student who didn't want to leave a classroom. 1:14 a.m. A Beaver Creek Road resident reported capturing five trespassers. 2:26 p.m. A woman reported some thefts by a relative. 3:05 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to the Hotel Cathlamet to aid people stuck in an elevator. 8:20 p.m. A caller reported being harassed by several people.

January 14--12:05 a.m. A caller reported two men had stolen a vehicle and were headed to Longview. 6:45 a.m. A motorist reported a mudslide was blocking Oatfield Road; the county road department was notified. 10:52 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported being harassed. 3:03 p.m. A Westend resident reported a man was talking about suicide; officers were advised. 5:09 p.m. A caller reported a violation of a restraining order; an officer made contact. 6:38 a. m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a person with a bleeding problem. 8:20 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a teenage male with a knee injury.

January 15--11:57 a.m. A Rosburg resident reported someone had broken into a house and a cabin; an officer investigated. 2:27 p.m. A caller reported a 15-year-old male was driving a pickup around Cathlamet; an officer investigated and found the youth had a learner's permit. 3:16 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island man with shortness of breath.

January 16--3:16 a.m. A motorist reported baseball size rocks all over SR 4 at Little Cape Horn. 7:19 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported a neighbor's house had water in the basement. 8:03 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman with chest pain. 10:10 a.m. Elochoman Valley residents reported a power outage. 10:24 a.m. A caller reported a tree blocking SR 4 west of County Line Park. 3:06 p.m. A caller reported a slide by a residence near Abe Creek; the back yard of the property slid away, and residents left until the area could be checked for stability.
